Thank you physician members – we defeated AB 3087!
Today, the California Medical Association (CMA) killed Assembly Bill 3087 (Kalra) – dangerous legislation that would have created a commission of unelected political appointees empowered to arbitrarily cap rates for all health care services in all clinics, hospitals and physician practices in California. ALERT - Break Ins at Physician Offices!!!

It has come to the attention of MMCMS that a number of physicians' offices have been broken into recently. We are encouraging you to be on the alert and to secure computers, patient records, prescription pads, etc. to prevent them being stolen. If those items are stolen, there is reporting that has to be done and you are encouraged to contact CMA Member Services at 800-786-4262 to obtain information about how to go about doing that.

CMA urges DOJ to take steps to ensure smooth transition to CURES mandate
The California Department of Justice (DOJ)  has certified  that as of April 2, 2018, the Controlled Substance Utilization Review and Evaluation System (CURES) – California’s prescription drug monitoring database – is ready for statewide use. The certification starts a six-month implementation period for the duty to consult requirements enacted by the Legislature in SB 482 (Lara, 2016). More...
