ABC Launches Post-Election Resource Hub

As we enter 2017 and prepare for a new presidential administration, ABC is resolved to work together with the broader Los Angeles civil rights advocates to protect and support the rights of our entire Los Angeles community. As part of this effort, ABC has created a Post-Election Resource Hub to help keep individuals and communities across Los Angeles informed of important information, tools, resources, and events provided by local officials, community based and civil rights organizations, schools and the media. If you or your organization has a resource it would like to share on our new site please email [email protected].

LA Data Spotlight

As part of ABC’s mission to raise awareness about issues that impact the Los Angeles Latino community, ABC has created an online LA Research Library that houses current education, economic development, housing and health research on Los Angeles County communities. This body of work not only informs ABC’s advocacy agenda but seeks to spark robust and critical civic dialog that will lead to action and change. This month ABC is spotlighting a 4-part report series on LA’s disconnected youth and the education and labor market settings in the Los Angeles region. Key findings include:

  • Rising school enrollment rates are reducing the disconnection rate of L.A. young adults.
  • A strengthened relationship between secondary and post-secondary institutions and regional employers can provide more opportunities for young people.
  • Recent gains in the LA regional labor market present an opportunity to reverse the decline in teen and young adult employment.

Mission

The mission of ABC is to promote economic prosperity of the Latino community and the Los Angeles region, inclusive of an improved quality of life for Latinos in education, health and civic participation.
