Dear Colleagues:

On February 9, 2017,  The Case for Funding Black-Led Social Change was released to help vitalize Black-led work across the nation.  The report was issued by the  Black Social Change Funders Network (BSCFN), an initiative forged with the leadership of  ABFE: A Philanthropic Partnership for Black Communities and the  Hill-Snowdon Foundation.

Join the leaders of both organizations Susan Taylor Batten (ABFE) and Nat Chioke Williams (Hill-Snowdon) as they discuss Black-Led Social change and why it's more critical now than ever.

The case statement proposes sustained, long-term investments to build infrastructure in seven key areas: 1) Civic Engagement & Political Power; 2) Community Organizing & People Power; 3) Policy Advocacy & System Reform; 4) Economic Development & Economic Power; 5) Research & Intellectual Power; 6) Communications/Narrative & Social Power; and 7) Leadership Development & Strategic Convenings.

On this webinar, we will discuss why your investments in these key areas matter. Additionally, you will hear why current investment plans aren't complete without:
  • Clear mapping of the current infrastructure for Black-led social change.
  • Increasing awareness of the lived experience of where you fund.
  • Developing Racial Equity and Diversity Plans.
We hope that this report will shake conventional philanthropic strategies to empower communities. Join us for this important conversation.
