Post a Job Opening Today

The purpose of the job center is to match the talent of engineers and surveyors with ACEC California firms looking for expertise in a specific field. Visitors can view a list of current job openings with ACEC California's engineering and surveying firms at no cost.

ACEC California recognizes how hard it can be to find qualified engineers and surveyors, and by making this job center open to the public, we are actively making the process a little easier.

Thank You for Attending the 2017 ACEC California Annual Conference!

Thank you to all of our ACEC California members, exhibitors, speakers and attendees of our 2017 Annual Conference in
beautiful Lake Tahoe. The Annual Conference Committee and ACEC California staff were delighted to put together a great event that included a little something for everyone.

This years' theme, "Together for Tomorrow" featured dynamic speakers such as Stephan Robinson, a NASA Astronaut, Space-Walker and Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at UC Davis, and Randy Iwasaki, the Executive Director of the Contra Costa Transportation Authority.

We hope all of those who attended enjoyed the conference and took the opportunity to spend time with fellow professionals, getting to know more about their firms and services.  Details are soon to follow for next year's annual conference at the Marriott Napa Valley Hotel & Spa and we look forward to hosting you again!

Caltrans Procurement Process and Financial Document Requirements Webinars Now Available!

As we have highlighted in some of our recent communications to you, Caltrans has changed their procurement process and related deadlines in 2017, and has established new requirements for the financial documents to be submitted as part of the contract procurement and negotiation process. We were fortunate to have Caltran's  Jim Davis, Caltrans Division Chief of Project Management & Esther Morris, Supervising Transportation Engineer discuss the related  procurement process.
Dan Purvine of A/E Clarity, who works as a consultant to ACEC National and ACEC California, has worked with Caltrans Audits & Investigations (A&I) and Division of Procurement and Contracts (DPAC) staff to develop these two free webinars. The webinars include an overview of the new Caltrans procurement process and related deadlines, and the financial documents package requirements.  The webinars are recorded and are available on demand, so you can view them on your schedule.
We urge you to watch these webinars as soon as you can.  The financial documents that are required should be prepared in advance of submitting a cost proposal, so don't wait until a submittal to get an understanding of the requirements.  As a reminder, these requirements are effective now, and it's important to meet the established deadlines for submitting the financial documents and responding to questions from Caltrans. Failure to submit the proper documents within the established deadlines will result in a termination of contract negotiations, and Caltrans will begin negotiations with the next-ranked firm.
Please email ljeglinski@acec-ca.org
if you have any questions about logging in to the webinars below.  Link to the Caltrans webinars can be found at:
Here are the direct links to the two NEW Webinars:

Webinar by A&I:
If you have questions about the requirements after viewing the webinars, you should contact one of the Caltrans A&I staff, who can provide further clarification.  Otherwise, contact ljeglinski@acec-ca.org and we will help connect ACEC California members.

Fix Our Roads Coalition

The Fix Our Roads coalition helped pass SB1, the much needed transportation funding PAC this year. Unfortunately, there are some who want to repeal the funding that is preparing our crumbling roads and providing millions of jobs. Attend one of these forums to hear how the dollars are being spent and what you can do to help.
