Welcome to ACHPER's new Chief Executive Officer
|
|
The ACHPER Board welcomes John Stokes, who started with ACHPER as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on January 31. John brings tremendous experience in business leadership and management to the position. He has proven skills in business development and leading organisational strategy development and execution. We know ACHPER members and the broader professional community will enjoy getting to know John in the coming months.
Message from John
"As I start my second week as CEO, what has become obvious to me is the extensive activities of ACHPER at both a national and state level, which are built around its significant relationships, particularly in the HPE and recreation areas.
I am very pleased to have been appointed CEO of ACHPER and look forward to building on the good work of the previous National Executive Director, Alison Turner. With its proud sixty plus year history, my aim is to work with all ACHPER stakeholders to cement the organisation's position as the peak body in the Health, Physical Education and Recreation sector."
The ACHPER Board would also take this opportunity to thank Alison Turner for her four years as ACHPER National Executive Director (NED). Alison was a passionate advocate for quality Health and Physical Education teaching throughout her time as NED. The ACHPER Board wishes Alison well in her future endeavours.
