When I was in elementary school in the 1960's, the world was a very different place. We thought nothing of standing to say the Pledge of Allegiance or having the Ten Commandments hanging on the wall outside of the principal's office. We rarely locked our doors, I was free to ride my bicycle all over the neighborhood and telephones had cords.
I do remember the older folks in town frowning when my hair got over my ears, but theirs was a different generation. I was too young to see both the good and the bad as cultural norms changed.
Now, I am officially an "older folk." I have aged long enough to see the changes in our society that have occurred over the last 50 years or so. I have to say that, for me, the world looks much like what St. Paul described in the third chapter of 2 Timothy when he said:
"But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power."
However, each generation before me may have felt the same way. They probably saw changes they don't like and recognized the possibility that they were witnessing the final days before Jesus' return.
Actually, all of us certainly should see the signs of our decay signaling Jesus' return. Every day brings us closer to the end. However, we should not allow the world's decay to disillusion us. We know and love Jesus. We know our future. Regardless of whether Jesus' return is now or still generations to come, we know the Lord's strength and steadfast love. We know that we can sing of His goodness. We can rejoice in our future with Him, f
or He has been for us a fortress and a refuge in the days of distress.

The church is going to throw a party in October! It will be for all ACSP members, family and friends (so just almost everyone.)
If the weather permits, we will set up tables, smokers, and a small stage on the lawn directly south of Trinity House. The church is providing meat for the BBQ and the rest of us will bring "fixin's". Cheryl Ide is keeping the list of who is bring what. Please check with her about what we are currently needing.
Eric and
Johnathan will liven up the event with a one-hour set of country and gospel music.
In the even of inclement weather, we will move inside Trinity House (all except the smokers, they are not house trained.)
If you have BBQ Smoking skills or desire to learn, please volunteer to help by contacting

Our Mission Statement Is: "REACH, TEACH, PREACH JESUS!" Approved by the vestry of the Anglican Church of Saint Paul on August 23, 2007 |
Our Vision Statement Is: The Anglican Church of Saint Paul will become a church united in love, growing spiritually through small groups of individuals studying God's Holy Word, praying for one another and the blessing of the church, and working towards the goal that the Lord's "salvation may reach to the ends of the earth." (Isaiah 49:6) Approved by the vestry of the Anglican Church of Saint Paul on February 17, 2011 |
Our Core Values The following scriptures summarize our church's Core Values: OUR PRIORITY - First of all, seek God. "... seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." (Matthew 6:33) OUR DIRECTION - Come out of the wilderness to the LORD and beckon others to join us. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28) OUR PURPOSE - Be healed and become a place of healing and peace. "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." (John 14:27) OUR REMINDER - In all things, it is the LORD who gets the glory. "Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the Lord Almighty." (Zechariah 4:6) OUR REWARD - Keep our eyes upon the prize. "Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it." (Revelation 2:17) Approved by the Anglican Church of Saint Paul Vestry on August 23, 2012 |
