AEM CORP. announced the availability of a 'mobile' version of its website. When accessing www.aem-corp.com, the site will automatically detect if you are on a mobile device, redirecting you to the mobile site. 

 
According to AOPA News, general aviation accidents and fatalities declined in 2010 for the fourth consecutive year, according to new National Transportation Safety Board data. In total number, the 1,435 GA accidents marked a 20-year low, even as estimated total flight hours began to climb for the first time since the Great Recession began. There were 450 GA accident fatalities in 2010, down from 478 in 2009.

 

ASSOCIATED AIR CENTER, StandardAero's large transport category, VIP Aircraft Completions Center in Dallas, Texas, announced it has achieved supplemental type certification for the installation of an Aircell ATG-5000 wireless internet on a Boeing 757-200 aircraft. The STC was accomplished with the support of the company's business aviation completion facility in Springfield, Ill.

 

AVIONICS & SYSTEMS INTEGRATION GROUP announced its partner, and avionics manufacturer SHADIN AVIONICS, has completed early development milestones for the iPad flyTab EFB avionics interface module. The AIM has completed initial functional milestones and satisfied stability testing of its passive iOS interface for Class 2 iPad EFB integrations.

 

CONSTANT AVIATION LLC announced JAY RANDALL has been named the Great Lakes regional sales manager.

 

The aviation program at KANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY'S Salina campus has added five new Cessna Skyhawk 172 G100s to the university's fleet of learning aircraft.


SPECTRUM TECHNOLOGIES PLC announced JOHN MEAHAN has been appointed as international sales and marketing director.

A State-by-State Economic Impact Survey 

  

The Alliance for Aviation Across America recently launched a wide-scale economic impact survey to outline the benefit of general aviation on businesses, local economies and communities around the nation. AEA Wired will highlight a different state each issue:

Congressional General Aviation Caucus Continues to Grow

General Aviation Caucuses were formed in the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate in 2009, to inform members and staff about the importance of GA to the nation's economy and transportation system. To date, 169 members of the U.S. Congress have signed on to the General Aviation Caucus. Click below to see if your elected representative is a member. 2012 AEA Regional Meeting Dates and Locations
The Aircraft Electronics Association has secured dates and locations for five of its seven regional meetings in 2012. Each AEA Regional Meeting attracts 100-200 attendees for two-to-three days of regulatory and technical seminars, business management sessions and exhibits. The AEA Regional Meetings provide a forum to see, hear and learn about all the new technology on the market, network with industry peers and discover the best practices of the general aviation electronics repair station industry.

FAA and Industry Discuss the Next Generation of Helicopter Avionics

FAA officials, including leadership from the FAA Rotorcraft Directorate, Small Airplane Directorate and Flight Standards, plan to meet with rotorcraft OEMs, avionics OEMs and rotorcraft MROs to discuss issues and challenges in certifying and installing lifesaving avionics technologies in the cockpits of helicopters in a safe and affordable manner. This three-day forum will take place at the Derby Center for Professional Development at AEA's international headquarters offices near Kansas City, Mo.
