Cape Symphony presents a New Years Day Party Annual Event
Cape Symphony presents a New Years Day Party Annual Event at the Barnstable Performing Arts Center on January 1 at 3 pm.
Have a blast at this New Year's Day bash. Meet the master of music and the king of comedy, Peter Schickele, most famous for his dubious "discovery" of P.D.Q. Bach (the illegitimate and surprisingly untalented son of J.S. Bach). He is crashing the party and bringing down the house with his side-splitting parodies of classical music - like the 1712 Overture. He's grabbed onto Grammies, shared laughs (and the stage) with the great Itzhak Perlman and turned the entire classical world on its very musical ear for over half a century. So hang on to your seats, because your very own orchestra and two versatile vocalists will also help paint the town red on this red letter day with Viennese waltzes, unforgettable arias and big Broadway hits.

Volunteers are needed in every area of the upcoming First Night Sandwich New Year's Eve event on December 31.
Performance artists who can sing, dance, and play instruments are welcome. We would love to have visual artists and performers in the spoken word, all can register on the First Night Website. If you enjoy being around creative people and would like to help the night of the event there are many opportunities. The committee is also looking for people who are handy and would like to help construct masks, create luminaries to float on Shawme Pond, or work on general assembly of parade items. We are an enthusiastic and fun group that enjoys all aspects of the New Year's Eve celebration, but we need everyone's help to complete this wonderful event.
