Max Mara by George Nick

In Search of Lost Time: Paintings by George Nick, now - May 18: Part of CCMA's Over the Bridge exhibitions, this exhibit gives Cape art-lovers the opportunity to view 18 works by a prominent Boston area artist who's won national recognition for his realist paintings. His fidelity to such subjects as Back Bay exteriors, vintage aircraft and automobiles, and sun-splashed interiors is coupled with a spirited handling of print and a gift for discovering refreshingly distinctive points of view.

Six of One, now - June 22: Every few months over the past three years, six nontraditional Cape artists have gathered in one another's studios to critique each other's work. The artists in question - Joe Diggs, Sarah Dineen, Richard Neal, Jackie Reeves, Andre van der Wende and James Wolf - have highly individual styles, but share a passion for frank dialogue concerning contemporary painting. The tie that binds the group is readily apparent in this exhibition. Related Event: Gallery Talk with Six of One Artists, May 29, 2 pm: A gallery talk with features artists Sarah Dineen, Richard Neal and James Wolf - will be free with price of admission to the museum.
