BE the CAUSE... Your Gift Can Make a DifferenceBeCause

Our chapter can take pride in the fact that 100% of our board has made a gift to the BE the CAUSE Campaign. Passion, purpose and pride not only drive what we do, but why we do it.

My fellow Board members and I invite you to join us by making a gift to the 2017 BE the CAUSE Campaign in support of our chapter and the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy. Your investment in the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy will help support local, national and international programs, such as Diversity & Inclusion, Professional Development, and research.

AFP Collegiate ChapterCollegiate

We are excited to announce the AFP Greater Detroit  Chapter's commitment to sponsor the Oakland University Collegiate Chapter which was launched this fall. Please join me in welcoming the collegiate chapter and the members who will be participating in networking events, educational programing and volunteering on committees as they build experience and develop professionally to prepare for careers in the nonprofit sector. Watch for more news and updates about the collegiate chapter activity and ways to get involved. Please contact Yvonne Lindstrom, AFP Greater Detroit Chapter Professional Advisor ([email protected]) if you would like to learn more about the collegiate chapter and for more information about ways to participate with the upcoming professionals in our area.

AFP's future is in the students attending colleges and universities across the globe, learning how to operate and fund charities and nonprofit organizations. AFP has an obligation to promote and encourage the active involvement of college and university students in philanthropy, the nonprofit sector and the profession of ethical fundraising. The Collegiate Chapter Program is an important part of the AFP Membership Division's professional pipeline program to attract people to the profession. The membership division supports Youth in Philanthropy, the Collegiate Chapter Program and the Young Professional Member program.
