Dear Greater Detroit AFP Members,

AFP Greater Detroit Chapter is strong because of you, its members. Keep the chapter moving forward and expand your professional network by joining an AFP Committee in 2018. Start early on those New Year's resolutions!

Listed below are the committees you can help to shape. Please contact the committee chairs directly for additional details. Yes, there is work involved, but it is well worth the time spent. All that said, if you join a committee and it is not what you were looking for, that's ok - you can always join another committee! However, don't sit on the sidelines (get involved!!). AFP Greater Detroit Chapter needs players on the field, not in the stands - It's Your Turn, Get Involved NOW!

Chamberlain Scholarship ProgramChamberlain

Each year, AFP International offers the Chamberlain Scholarship Program to assist outstanding AFP members who have never before attended an AFP International Conference. Each chapter is invited to select one Chamberlain Scholar.

Our chapter's Chamberlain Scholar winner will attend the AFP International Conference in New Orleans, LA, April 15 - 17, 2018.

To qualify, you must be an AFP Greater Detroit member in good standing for at least three years, employed as a fundraising professional, never attended an AFP International Conference, and agree to complete an online evaluation about your experience at the conference.

The Chamberlain Scholar receives $500 to cover AFP International Conference registration (scholars must pay $10 to register).

Submission deadline is Sunday, October 15, 2017.

"The conference provides a rich and diverse learning experience for fundraising professionals who are looking for new, innovative ways to raise funds and, ultimately, make an impact in the world. After attending the conference, I'm reinvigorated and excited to implement new ideas I learned."

Submit Your Distinguished Volunteers Today-
Deadline Extended to September 22nd!DistVol

Is there a volunteer at your organization that
directly contributes to your success? One who inspires you with their passion and motivation for your cause?

Do you have a board member, donor, or committee chair that always goes the extra mile --- closing the gap on donations or always willing to do what they can to help out?

Is there a volunteer that your organization couldn't operate without?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you have a DISTINGUISHED VOLUNTEER!

Please celebrate them, their commitment to your organization and philanthropy as a whole at the 26th annual National Philanthropy Day dinner on November 9th at The Henry in Dearborn. Simply fill out the form and tell us a bit about your volunteer. Their photo and bio will be included in the program book that will be available at the National Philanthropy Day dinner. We only ask that you host your volunteer at the event.

Deadline extended!  Submit your Distinguished Volunteer form by Friday, September 22nd.
