NextGen Networking

Join other young professionals working in fundraising and the non-profit sector for the Fall edition of NextGen Networking, an evening of casual drinks and conversation, on Wednesday, October 8th at 5:30 p.m. at the Fox and Feather on Elgin Street.

After the success of our inaugural event in June at the Earl of Sussex, we look forward to another evening of engaging conversation and the opportunity to connect with other young people working in the fundraising/non-profit sector in Ottawa.

About the event:

Next Gen fundraising professionals in Ottawa need a place to share best practices, compare campaigns, complain about database malfunctions, offer advice on volunteer recruitment and inquire about CRA regulations. A place to find likeminded individuals to bounce ideas off of, to seek guidance on outreach and advocacy strategies and chitchat about the hottest new venues in town.

This event is open to all young professionals working or volunteering in the non-profit sector.

This event is FREE (drinks and food are not covered, but will be available to buy). The event will take place upstairs.

AFP Webinar: Incorporating Stories

Nothing connects us to one another like stories. We teach our children through story. We entertain each other with stories. And yes, we raise a lot of money by being great storytellers. Great fundraisers know the power of great narrative. In this session, Leah will talk about the psychology around giving, and will provide real life examples of great stories in action.

At the conclusion of this session, participants will:

  • Have a better understanding of how donors make giving decisions
  • Know the components of a great story
  • Have great examples of storytelling in action

Target Audience:

Intermediate-level fundraisers

About the Presenter:

Leah Eustace, CFRE is the Chief Idea Goddess at Good Works; a boutique consulting firm in Ottawa, Canada. With over 20 years of fundraising experience, her expertise lies in helping charities develop meaningful relationships with their donors through storytelling.
