Fundamentals of Fundraising Course Scholarship
The Fundamentals of Fundraising Course is a seven-module course designed to respond to the real-world challenges charitable and nonprofit organizations face every day. The program offers a comprehensive overview of the development function, features the most current information and techniques and includes case studies and projects for groups and individuals, making the learning experience hands-on, substantive and enjoyable. The course is designed for individuals with 0 to 4 years of fundraising experience. It also counts towards your CFRE!
February 3 & 4, 2017 - Philanthropic Leadership Program - Unlocking your leadership potential in just 2 days!
This unique leadership program is designed for (and with) professionals working in the charitable and non-profit sector that are motivated to become leaders who truly inspire their teams, boards and donors to excel. Our sector is desperate for high quality managers and leaders who can help the entire organization work collectively to achieve the results their mission is calling on them to create. This unique 2-day program will help you develop specific skills and techniques, along with personal confidence in your own unique leadership style.
Leadership is a complex journey that requires incredible self-awareness along with a savvy set of skills in the area of strategic thinking and planning, managing relationships, achieving goals, and motivating our teams. These skills take time to develop and there is no perfect formula that you can use each and every time. This special program format will include a two-day deep dive intensive to explore your strengths, develop leadership competencies and discuss "real world" situations that bring leadership to life, followed by personal coaching and group check-ins that create continuous learning, growth and accountability beyond the two-day intensive.

The AFP Fundamentals of Fundraising Course was developed with a foundation from the Essentials of Fundraising Program and the First Course in Fundraising and is composed of seven modules that have been designed by experienced fundraising professionals to meet the real-world needs and challenges non-profit organizations face every day.

Diversity is a term that is used often in our culture to mean a diverse amount of things. What does it mean to you? The AFP - VI are debating this issue as well and would be interested to hear what you think it means, in relation to your work as a fundraiser. A definition currently being proposed is: That the AFP - VI board of directors move to adopt a new definition of diversity to include increasing membership from, and service to, multi-cultural, immigrant and refugee societies, First Nations, LGBT associations and other, smaller primarily volunteer run service providers in the non-profit sector. Come join the conversation!
AFP is looking for members everywhere who are Artists, Poets, and Photographers to exhibit their artwork at the Member Art Showcase - part of the AFP International Diversity & Inclusion Committee's Diversity Art Showcase and the upcoming International Conference in San Francisco.
The Diversity Art Showcase spotlights youth art, a local professional artist, and the artwork of AFP members. The Showcase strives to portray the uniqueness, value, and diversity of people through art, photos, and poetry. We know there's lots of talent among our members, so we're calling all AFP member artists, poets, and photographers to participate.Members do not have to attend the conference to participate.
Types of Artwork Accepted:
We encourage the submission of all kinds of art including painting, photography, drawings, sketches, collages, quilting, computer art, mixed media, and sculpture. Poetry submissions can include rhymed poetry, free verse, experimental and Haiku.
We plan to set-up the artwork on Saturday, April 29th at 1:30 p.m. We will showcase art during the 54th Annual International Conference April 30 - May 2, 2017 in San Francisco.
Getting You Artwork There:
You can either bring your artwork and deliver it to the Moscone Center West on Saturday, April 29th at 1:30 p.m. or ship it to the AFP International Headquarters, attention Heba Mahmoud by March 31st. If you choose to ship it to AFP, it will be included in their overall shipment to the conference and they will ship it back to you as well. AFP will cover your shipping costs. We are seeking applications for a Development Coordinator which is a full-time position working closely with the Development Manager. This is an exciting time to join the Belfry team during our 41st season, as we continue to expand our programming and artistic outreach and grow our revenues to support our expanded role within our community.
