Industry News
"Carbon fiber has a long history in commercial aircraft manufacturing, but its first large-scale application was on the Boeing 787, which features composite materials for half its airframe. Airbus follow Boeing's lead and used composites for much of the A350's wings and fuselage, and any future clean-sheet aircraft-- as well as upgrades of existing models-- will lean heavily on carbon fiber as well."
- MRO Network

"The aviation industry needs to hire thousands of more people like Thomas Maharis. Maharis...is earning $25 an hour as an entry-level aircraft technician. in four overnight shifts a week at nearby JFK Airport, Maharis repairs aircraft cabins after planes are done flying for the day for Delta Air lines, where he started working in June."
- CNBC

"Will aviation be electrified? The answer among industry executives is an overwhelming "yes," but in different ways, on different time frames, in different markets. As the technologies for electric propulsion advance, it is becoming clear one size will not fit all-- and that may be a good thing."
