March 24, 2017

On Wednesday evening, there was a steady flow of people to the Methodist Youth Center, who took part in a special Time for Healing, Renewal and Wholeness. The MYC was transformed into a warm place with stations for guided prayer and meditation that led people through opportunities to release burdens, seek God's healing, have people intercede in prayer, and be anointed.

The time was filled with love, care and compassion, as servants offered themselves to be used as the body of Christ. The Apostle Paul said that we are one body made up of many parts. No part of the body is more valued or significant than the other; all are needed. We are the body of Christ. Wednesday night's ministry of healing and wholeness was another example of how the body of Christ works together to bring the love of Christ. Various ministries came together, each bringing their unique and specific gifts and graces to be used in concert with others. The result was a wonderful worship opportunity for all who participated.

There is no real way to measure the "success" of a ministry like this. No way to know how many lives were transformed, who experienced the healing they cried to God for, or who is experiencing a healing that goes beyond our understanding.  No way to count and measure how the Spirit of God moved through the people of God. For those who made their way through the Time for Healing, Renewal and Wholeness, there was a strong awareness that the presence of the Lord was in that place! The body of Christ came together and ministered in the name of Christ, and lives were touched. Praise God!

Tornado Recovery Team

Members of our Disaster Response Team gathered for prayer in the Methodist Youth Center parking lot on Thursday afternoon, before departing for South Georgia. This week's Breath Prayers

By Babs Robinson
Prayer Committee

I am always fascinated by how eagles steadfastly protect their eggs, knowing that if the eggs are broken from the outside the eaglets will die, but if broken from the inside, new life occurs. My prayer during this Lenten season is that my strength will be renewed and that I will allow God to change me from the inside.

"...those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint." (Isaiah 40:31 )
