On April 29, 2018, the Prairie Central District and the Elbow and District Museum & Heritage Society hosted a Kairos Blanket Exercise . This experiential and emotional event guided participants through the history of Turtle Island while helping to open hearts, minds and spirits. It is just the start of the reconciliation process. RESPECT IN SPORT RESOURCE LINE 
Sask Sport has expanded its longstanding Respect in Sport service to include their new Respect in Sport Respect Resource Line  available 365 days per year ! It provides bilingual response to calls, texts or emails by expert staff who will guide you to the necessary resources pertaining to:
  • child and youth maltreatment
  • bullying
  • hazing
  • national/provincial child and youth protection laws, and
  • organization-specific risk management and dispute resolution models.

SaskCollections Phase 5
- Call for Participation  

This spring/summer MAS is continuing to expand its SaskCollections Project and they want you to join! They are looking for 5 new museums to join the movement! SaskCollections is an (almost) free collections management database system. If you already have a database (or a spreadsheet), they will coordinate the transfer of your records to the SaskCollections system. If you have paper records, they will make sure you know how to enter them into the system. MAS also provides training and advisory services to participating museums. Read more and register today!
Heritage Conservation Workshops
May 8-9 - Regina

The Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport  is hosting two workshops in Regina on May 8th and 9th, 2018. These free workshops will provide training on the research and management of historic places and will be of interest to anyone who owns, uses, manages, interprets or regulates heritage buildings and other historic places.
 
The workshops offered are:
Tuesday, May 8 : Statement of Significance & Heritage Inventory - 9:30am – 4:30pm     
Wednesday, May 9:  Heritage Standards and Guidelines  - 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
 
These workshops will be valuable learning opportunities for anyone who makes decisions that affect historic places. The workshops are designed so that they can be taken individually, but attendance at both is recommended for maximum benefit. If you have any questions, please contact the Ministry offices at 306-787-2817 or [email protected].

  • Leadership – Individual
  • Leadership – Organization
  • Arts and Learning

Award recipients receive a cash prize and a limited edition award. The 2018 Saskatchewan Arts Awards will be held on Thursday, October 25, at Casino Regina.

JRPM Celebration Initiative Grant applications, with the eligibility criteria, will be processed on a first come, first served basis. The funding is capped and once the funds are allocated, the Grant will be considered closed. The 2018 Grant Application Form will be available electronically only on their webpage , beginning on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 @ 10am.  SPRA is pleased to have the opportunity to offer financial assistance to JRPM Ambassadors (supporting communities and agencies) that are Active members of SPRA.
