Region 14

The Region 14 Championship Horse Show was once again very fortunate to have such a great turnout, and the quality of horse flesh was superb as usual. We had several first time exhibitors at our show and it was the first time for them to compete at this level. We also offered a couple of new classes such as Ranch Riding. They were all well attended and also offered two judges for the Sport Horse In-Hand classes; Hunter type and Dressage type for the first time. Of course there was a little confusion as always with new things but I think when all was said and done it was a welcome addition to the show. We are going to try and expand the Ranch Riding division and add a few more Western Dressage classes, so we are expecting your participation in order to make this a success next year! We welcomed a new show secretary, Ryan Chambers, and his associate Tony Reid. I appreciate the many exhibitors that made them feel welcome. Along with new people there will always be changes in the way things are done and I welcome any new suggestions he can offer. We will always miss Jean Hedger in the office and were fortunate that Debbie Swigart who worked with Jean stepped up in another area to volunteer. We are hoping that she will continue. Betty Grindstaff was also part of the office crew and if and when she wants a position at the show, I am sure we can fix her up!  Thanks to the ladies for their dedication to Region 14 for so many years. I must also thank Lori Foster and the Hollywood Toi Foundation for keeping the show exciting and fun! This year's hamster ball races were a riot! I don't know how they can top it next year. However, I am sure they will make sure you attend and join in on the fun!

Sincerely, Cindy Clinton
