The Arabian Horse Association Launches #JoinTheJourney Campaign

The Arabian Horse Association (AHA) launches the #JoinTheJourney campaign to highlight the membership organization and the Arabian horse. The campaign consists of print and digital advertisements, social media platform material and a commercial comprising of individuals enjoying and bonding with Arabian horses.

"The Arabian horse has such an incredible ability to create a special bond with humans that it is something we want to share with everyone," said Mikayla Boge, Director of Marketing of AHA. "Also, our organization offers many benefits and a variety of programs that anyone can participate in, whether you own an Arabian horse or not. The idea behind the #JoinTheJourney campaign is designed to highlight this."

The campaign revolves around the #JoinTheJourney hashtag, enticing individuals to join in on why the Arabian horse is so fantastic. The campaign is intended to touch every individual, whether it is a mother with children looking for an after-school activity for the kids or an individual seeking a hobby to enjoy, the #JoinTheJourney campaign encompasses all of this. "Many individuals do not realize how much a horse can change your life," said Glenn Petty, Executive Vice President of AHA. "For example, horses can teach responsibility, be your best friend and are a great way to be involved in an activity where you are always learning something new. This campaign is really designed to showcase this and how the Arabian horse fits into your life."
The design of the campaign really focuses around what the Arabian horse has to offer on every level. Previous studies have shown that there are numerous benefits to being involved with horses. One such study, " Horse-Riding Can Improve Children's Cognitive Ability"  published in Frontiers in Public Health concluded that riding horses leads to improved learning in children. The campaign will focus on highlighting and promoting these types of beneficial elements of the Arabian horse industry.

Whether you are involved in the Arabian horse industry already, or have never touched a horse before, there is something for everyone. To learn more about the Arabian Horse Association, or how you can be involved, visit arabianhorses.org today to #JoinTheJourney!

If you would like to download #JoinTheJourney material to be used at your next event or to help promote the Arabian horse, visit our Marketplace - Fun and Educational Items section at www.arabianhorses.org/marketplace/ .

Region 5 Endurance season is about to get started.

Most of these rides have an "intro ride" or "trail  ride" that is a shorter distance to allow you to try the sport without jumping into the limited distance of 25 mile. These intro rides are non-timed events, so you can take as long as you need to finish, yet still go through the vetting requirements to learn the process.  If it's something you are thinking about trying it's the best way to experience endurance without the stress of being timed.

Another great thing about endurance, is there is really no dress code other than the required helmet while mounted per EDRA rules.  You can use any saddle and any tack that best fits your horse and clothes that you feel comfortable in.

Region 5 Endurance Championship will be at Capital Forest in Olympia, Wash., June 23, 2018.  Base camp will be the Evergreen Gun Club.

If you want to experience night riding in a safe environment, check out Midnight Riders on August 25.   Ride manager, Bobbi Walker, does an amazing job of coordinating this to be a successful learning experience.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact Jala Neufeld at [email protected] or 253.617.8945 (leave message or text)

Member Accolades:

Prue Critichley is brimming with pride.  Her great stallion *Empres++++// has been immortalized as a Breyer Model, released in January, and he's been invited as a guest horse to BreyerFest in July, 2018 at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Ky.

It is believed that Empres is the first Canadian horse immortalized by Breyer, an honor not to be taken lightly.

*Empres is a Monogramm son born in Poland in 1995, but now lives in Manitoba, Canada, with his loving owner, Prue Critchley. He was born at Michałów State Stud, Poland, under the direction of Ignacy Jaworowski. As a three-year-old he raced at the Warsaw track. He stood at stud at Michałów and other Polish stud farms for three years, siring 25 foals in Poland. Many of these have gone on to prove themselves on the track and at shows in Europe. Some of these have produced highly successful offspring themselves.
*Empres arrived in Canada in April 2011 - and is very proudly owned by Prue Critchley, Manitoba.  He has continued with a very successful show career which can be found on his web page :   www.empres.ca
