Profit from our Consortium Approach to Apprenticeships

The perceived entry barrier for SMEs was identified as one of the key limitations at our "Apprenticeships and Manufacturing" panel with the Atlantic Council last week. This the reason why our Apprenticeship Systems follow a consortium approach, joining forces and resources among multiple companies in a region.

We have a constant dialogue with our partnering companies to improve our support in integrating their apprenticeships successfully and holistically. This begins with helping to set up the entire framework, build pipelines, finding right candidates, college cooperation, training trainers and much more.

As discussed by the panel, further challenges regarding the implementation of apprenticeship systems include:

  • Quality Assurance: Scaling of robust apprenticeship programs to a common standard
  • Career Path: Promote apprenticeships as a stepping stone for careers and highlight upward mobility of apprenticeship systems
  • Industry Image: Inviting students and parents to modern manufacturing facilities

We are excited to continue our work to address those challenges with our network. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us with suggestions, or questions.

Kind regards,

GACC Midwest

International Train the Trainer Certification

If your supervisors are not pedagogically qualified to pass on their skills and knowledge to young talent, how is your apprenticeship program supposed to be succesful?

That is why from June 26 through July 4, three employees from the GACCs undertook an intensive training in Berlin, Germany to learn about international standards of "Train the Trainer" Programs. We are proud to announce that all three sucessfully passed the testing. After sucessfull completion of the program, the GACCs will offer this exclusive and high quality training to cooperating companies to enhance the quality of apprenticeship programs in the US.
