Mayor's Youth Employment Program and ACE

The ACE Program Needs YOU

One of the most common questions we get is "How can I help?" ACE is currently searching for companies who can take on our ACE students as summer interns. Internships provide valuable work experience for our students interested in pursuing careers in the fields of architecture, construction and engineering. Our students are interested in getting more training, but the summer opportunities are simply lacking in these fields. ACE partners with the Mayor's Youth Employment Program to place qualified students in summer employment opportunities. If you think your company might be a good fit, please reach out to ACE Board Secretary, Kathleen Santimaw at ksantimaw@ci.charlotte.nc.us to get more information. All internship positions need to be secured by May 1.

AIASketch Auction

Friday, March 27 | 6:00 - 8:00

UNC Charlotte Storrs Salon

The sketch auction is a play on the traditional napkin sketch auction that many architecture schools host but has been personalized onto a gridded 4x6 card that our first year undergraduate students use to begin their design careers. We have asked our contributors to leave their mark of artistic expression as we collected pieces from makers of varying backgrounds to auction off in a silent and live auctioned event. Over the previous semester premade 4x6 cards have been selectively given to guest lecturers, professionals, alumni, faculty members, and students who have become contributors to the sketch auction, providing us with a wide variety of beautiful work. More info online here
