The mission of The 2014 Architects' Home Tour is to demonstrate the value of architects and thoughtful design for residential construction to the general public. The main goal of the tour is to increase the use of architects in residential construction.

The new 2014 Indiana Building Code was approved as a Final Rule at the June 3, 2014 hearing of the Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission, and was signed by the governor into law on July 31. The code will become effective on December 1, 2014, and adopts by reference the 2012 International Building Code with Indiana amendments.
 

The course will provide a broad survey of the principle fire and life safety related changes proposed in the 2014 Indiana Building Code versus similar provisions in the currently adopted 2008 Indiana Building Code, primarily as they relate to architectural building design. The changes covered will include the model International Building Code changes in the 2009 and 2012 code change cycles, as well as those occurring within the proposed Indiana amendments. The course will cover relevant material in Chapters 1-31 of the building code, including a cursory review of changes in Chapter 11 concerning accessibility.

The International Masonry Institute is proud to present their first Indy Style Tile Marble and Terrazzo event. The event will feature: Designing with Tile presented by Scott Conwell, AIA; Gary French of the National Terrazzo and Mosaic Association will discuss what new in the industry and give an Introduction to Rustic Terrazzo; MAPEI /Daltile's will present information on their new Thin Porcelain panels and provide information on how it can be incorporated creatively into design; a discussion on the new ACT specification for installers.
