Utilizing 3D Laser Scanning and Revit for Design and As-Built Information

Attendees will hear one hour of HSW credit.
This course will demonstrate the benefits of 3D Laser scanning for architectural and engineering design.  This course provides a concentration on using 3D laser scans for design and as-built information.  Each step of the 3D laser scanning workflow process is analyzed.  Additional post processing methods are reviewed for converting the laser scan point cloud raw data into common CAD platforms such Revit.  Applications, costs, and example case studies are also reviewed.
Learning Objectives:
  • Benefits of 3D Laser Scanning: Better design through better understanding of existing conditions.
  • 3D Laser Scanning Workflow and Process: Avoiding critical errors.

AIA OKLAHOMA NEWS
Help Us Fresh-Up the Fall Convention
We are conducting a survey to help us understand what members want out of the Fall AIA Oklahoma Convention.  Please take a few minutes to take this survey.  It's just 10 questions and will take 3 minutes or less.

Haven't ever attended convention or its been a few years since you attended?  We REALLY want to hear your thoughts.  What would bring you back or bring you for the first time?

Thank you in advance for your assistance with this!
Governor Appoints Task Force To Look At Occupational Licensing

Last week, Governor Mary Fallin announced the formation of a task force to look into occupational licensing in Oklahoma.  The task force will look into all occupational licensing in Oklahoma, including Architects.  Architects protect the health, safety and welfare of the public but that doesn't mean our licensing law won't be under attack.

As we look toward the 2017 Legislative Session, defending the practice of architecture will be at the top of our priority list.  However, we can't do this without your help.  We will need you to contact and visit legislators when asked and please be sure Architects Blitz the Capitol is on your calendar for March 1.  And most importantly please consider giving to ARCPAC as we will need this resource in our efforts to defend the practice of architecture.
