New Look. New Resources.

The NAPT website launches improvements for all users at nativetelecom.org--the new look includes an educational resources section offering instructional tools such as lesson plans, post-screening viewer discussion guides, interactive timelines, digital media clips and more.

NAPT has also improved our members' area to allot for multiple search criteria when looking for media makers in Indian Country. You can now search by job title, skill set and/or location. A new feature sure to please is the proximity filter, so people working on a production in a certain location can find potential crew members local to the area.

Also new to the members' section is an area where educators, students and parents can connect and discuss ideas for the classroom amongst numerous other topics important to education.

A new calendar will aid in looking up broadcast and screening times, as well as the option to sign-up for a reminder email from NAPT before the event occurs.

NAPT feels that the new features of the site will create a user-friendly experience that will bring you closer to the resources you've been looking for. Diane portraying Elizabeth

Diane E. Benson (Tlingit) has pursued a multidimensional life that has included work as a playwright, writer, speaker, politician and actress. In the docudrama, For the Rights of All: Ending Jim Crow in Alaska, Benson plays the role of Tlingit activist Elizabeth Peratrovich--on of the most influential leaders of the Alaska Civil Rights Movement.

The film tells the story of Alaska Natives and the injustice they experienced after the United States purchased the Alaska Territory from Russia. Facing racism, segregation and discrimination, Alaska Natives staged their own Civil Rights Movement. Peratrovich's impassioned testimony before the Alaska Territorial Senate helped Alaska Natives achieve the legal recognition they desired.
