Digital Clean Up

We sent this out two months ago, but we thought it might be a good reminder. Thank you to those groups who updated their pages!

We recently completed an initial evaluation of our AIS Community (SIGs, Chapters, and Colleges) websites and social media. What we found is there are groups who are doing great things and keeping their websites updated. Unfortunately, there were also a lot of pages that are sorely outdated. Click here to see how your group's website is doing.

Will you please work with your executive officers and fellow members to update your SIG or Chapter website by the end of the year? For those of you who do not have a website, we would recommend using the free group pages hosted by AIS on your behalf. For more information on setting up your free group page, please contact patrick@aisnet.org.

Ideas for updating your website
  1. Update your officer information with contact information. (If you haven't recently updated your officer information with us, please go to https://ais.site-ym.com/?SIGChpUpdates  and update your officer information.
  2. Add upcoming meetings at ICIS 2015 and AMCIS 2016. Click here for information on how to add an ICIS 2015 meeting if you have already registered.
  3. Add publications or links to publications that were recently published by members of your group.
Name Change
"What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet."  -William Shakespeare
Several months ago you may have received a short survey called "What should we collectively call SIGs, Chapters, and Colleges?". The survey came about because the executive committee of the AIS Council felt the term being used at the time, Components, was confusing and didn't represent a name AIS members could relate to. In the survey we asked group leaders to provide recommendations on what to collectively call SIGs, Chapters, and Colleges.  The overwhelming response was Communities. Please see the results below. In addition, the agenda at the AMCIS 2015 meeting of AIS Community leaders included the name change. There was limited discussion and the group felt the name was fitting.

Over the next couple of months you will see the following to describe the collective group:
AIS Communities (SIGs, Chapters, Colleges).  We are excited about the new name and it's potential to be a driving force in engaging AIS members and perspective members.
