Stories from the Heart
Tammy Hopkins - Early Childhood AISD employee

"I joined the Marathon Kid's Employee Program through eWellness & it inspired me to get hold of my eating & exercise programs. I cut out the junk and started eating 5-6 small meals each day and set a goal of 5 miles of activity each day. Most of this was walking, but pending a knee replacement, that was all I could do. January 30th I got my new knee. I was up and moving only an hour after surgery and walked the hallways of the hospital 5-6 times a day. I took this same spirit home with me and what was amazing is that I felt healthier and got smaller. I tried on clothes in preparation to return to the workplace and couldn't believe my eyes! I went from a size 14 pants to a size 10! I had lost 20.4 pounds from when I checked into the hospital. The wellness program kept me motivated to complete my 4 marathons and it keeps inspiring me to keep moving to feel better and keep toning up!"
