Over the next few weeks, ALA will be fighting for industry issues on several key fronts.

California Energy Commission (CEC)

The CEC will hold its final rulemaking on Appliance Energy Enforcement Standards Regulations on 20 Oct. ALA has been working on the issue since last Feb., and Eric Jacobson, our president designate, will personally deliver our final testimony at the CEC hearing in Sacramento. A copy of our testimony can be seen here.

We will advise you of the CEC's final action.

The CEC rulemaking is important not only to manufacturers and California members, but to all members. Our experience tells us that California regulatory actions are quickly adopted by a number of other states.

Department of Energy (DOE) Rulemaking on New Ceiling Fan Efficiency Regulations

ALA and 22 ceiling fan members, plus our Washington, D.C., attorney are moving forward to prepare for the DOE hearing on the issue in 18-19 Nov. 

My personal thanks go out to the industry for inducting me into the Lighting Hall of Fame during the Annual Conference.
