Mads Asprem (2017) is helping drive impact investing in Africa. Mr. Asprem recently launched NewAfrica Impact, an advisory firm focused on projects in forestry, renewable energy, and climate change.

Thuli Madonsela (2017) is making the case that governments should protect socioeconomic rights in their constitutions.  In an opinion piece for Financial Mail, Ms. Madonsela explains why constitutionally guaranteeing these socioeconomic rights will help protect democracy.

Carol Hallquist (2016) has been appointed to the Missouri State Board of Education. Following her Fellowship year, Ms. Hallquist founded PrincipalsConnect, an organization that matches retired business leaders with urban school principals to assist with professional services.

Lynne Wines (2016) is leading a new initiative to house the homeless. Ms. Wines has been named senior director of the Business Council on Homelessness for the United Way of Broward County and will manage the "United We End Homelessness" campaign.

Carrin Patman (2014) is being recognized by the University of Texas School of Law for her commitment to public service. Ms. Patman was named the 2018 Distinguished Alumna for Community Service for her civic involvement and will be honored at an awards ceremony in the fall. 

Cynthia Holland (2012) is helping families cope with life-threatening cancer. Dr. Holland recently  published an article in the Journal of Palliative Medicine on her "My Kite Will Fly Program," an intervention aimed to improve communication between mothers diagnosed with gynecological cancer and their children.  

Anne Marcus (2012) was appointed to The Children's Trust Massachusetts Board of Directors by Governor Charlie Baker. The Children's Trust assists a statewide network of over one hundred family support agencies across Massachusetts.

ALI Chair & Director Rosabeth Moss Kanter (HBS) says that in a leadership transition, new energy will flow from the ground up. Prof. Kanter offered her thoughts on successful transitions as part of a Financial Times article on Cisco's new CEO.

ALI Faculty Co-Chair Iris Bohnet (HKS) says technology can contribute to a more diverse, just, and civil world. Prof. Bohnet was the keynote speaker for  Harvard's IT Summit and spoke about ways to increase diversity and de-bias hiring procedures in the tech world.  
 
ALI Faculty Co-Chair Fernando Reimers (HGSE) says President Trump's use of dehumanizing words towards migrants must stop. In a recent article, Prof. Reimers argues that teachers are critical to stopping this sort of dialogue.
