 According to IBISWorld research, the healthcare sector is a hotbed for M&A activity, "Ignited by government healthcare reform initiatives, IBISWorld is seeing increasing concentration amongst healthcare providers, pharmaceutical companies, insurers and medical instrument manufactures and distributors. While revenue is growing by around 3%, we are seeing a slight contraction in enterprise numbers over 2010-11. As M&A activity intensifies, price competition within these industries decreases and profit margins tend to grow."
