CMO Roundtable

Greetings!

Let's say that you subscribe to a particular newsletter that sells high quality widgets. You look forward to reading every issue, you may even post comments and sign up for specific products and services that are promoted. It is a company that you trust because it always delivers what is promised. It is why you often recommend it to others.

On the flip side, perhaps you receive another newsletter that may also be selling similar widgets. The difference here is that you didn't subscribe for this information. Your name was captured from an event you attended a few months ago. Since you are unfamiliar with the company and do not have an established relationship with this vendor, the content is not interesting, you quickly deem it as spam and hit delete.

Of these two scenarios, it is clear which adds the most value. So why do many marketers continue to blindly email audiences without a clear customer engagement and ROI measurement strategy as depicted in the second scenario?

According to Chad Smith, author of the popular RetailEmail blog and Research Director at Responsys, there's a lot of faulty email marketing practices that are repeated by even the most reputable publications. With email still the #1 driver of conversions for many B2C and B2B companies, it's important to get the formula right in order to have the most positive impact on your business.

Join this friendly and highly interactive session as Chad highlights the most common email marketing mistakes, how you can avoid them, and how you can build highly effective email campaigns that make all the difference.
