Henley Arts & Crafts Guild Autumn Exhibition:

The Old Fire Station Gallery, Upper Market Place, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire

Opening 6-8pm 17th October

Continuing 18th - 21st October 
10am - 4pm Sat, Sun & Mon     10 am - 3pm Tues

This is the HACG autumn event, which features up to three original pieces from a selection of members across a diverse skill-set, including paintings, sculpture, prints and cards. I will be at the opening for part of the evening.

The Reading Art Exhibition:

St Josephs College, Upper Redlands Road, Reading, Berkshire RG1 5JT   

24th* - 26th October  public access 10am - 6pm Sat, 10am - 4pm Sun

(Preview on 24th by ticket from the organisers; this year, I am not attending the evening event.)

This Exhibition is now in its seventh year and goes from strength to strength, raising money for local charity - this year the Alexander Devine Children's Hospice. 

St Joseph's College is a great venue, close to the town centre and has excellent free parking facilities. There are two large exhibition galleries filled with a huge variety of artworks to suit every pocket and taste, typically over 400 paintings on view together with a wide selection of ceramics and sculpture. There is also an Art Cafe and various Workshops being held.

Anyone who has read into my background via my Bio or my main blog Scattering the Light will probably know that I have been on a long journey of recovery from fibromyalgia. The many-layered way that my journey towards better health has interwoven with the art that I produce is undeniable to me and, increasingly, something that I am prepared to talk about since each contributes relevance to the other. I go into this more on my website.

More times than I can say, I have finished a piece of art only to find that it delivers new understanding to me after the event, sometimes many months after the paint is dry. This is where the creative process has the potential to become a messenger from your SELF to YOURSELF; something I talk about a lot!

I recently received some extraordinary insight via my fascination with painting windows and this helped me to reach some profound conclusions regarding my health-journey.
