GO-Biz Hosting 28 Workshops for Businesses Interested in Applying for Over $200 Million in Tax Credits

GO-Biz is awarding over $200 million in tax credits in fiscal year 2017-18. The next CCTC application period starts July 24, 2017. Businesses interested in applying can register to attend any of the workshops and receive helpful information for GO-Biz staff.
LAVC offering FREE MasterCam and CNC training classes beginning in July

Los Angeles Valley College is offering 40 hour/non- credit training program is for incumbent workers who want to improve their skills. Funding for these COST FREE training programs comes from the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL). Participants will be required to register with the South LA WorkSource; but no need to worry – they come to LAVC to do the paperwork!

Summer Intro to Manufacturing Technology Bootcamp classes starting soon at ELAC

The accelerated 5-week certificate program instructs students in the fundamentals of manufacturing procedures and processes. Once completed, students will be qualified for high-demand, entry-level positions in the manufacturing industry. Classes begin July 17. Contact us if you are interested in interviewing graduates or participating in the program.

Titans of CNC TV Stars Visit "Uniquely Abled Project" at Glendale Community College

The Uniquely Abled Project at Glendale Community College was visited by Titans of CNC founder, producer and star, Titan Gilroy, and his son, Tyson Gilroy. Titans of CNC is an elite Northern California CNC machine shop, and also a TV series airing on MAVTV that promotes American manufacturing, CNC machining, technical education and job growth.

The Los Angeles Business Journal recently published an article detailing California’s Strong Workforce Program (SWP) which is designed to help strengthen career and technical education (CTE) programs. Several AMP SoCal partners are involved in the success of SWP.

The Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing (ARM) Institute Technology Review
Hosted by USC

The University of Southern California hosted the Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing (ARM) Institute West Coast Informational & Technology Review on June 15. AMP SoCal is part of the ARM Institute, which will bring a Regional Robotics Innovation Collaborative (RRIC) to California, headquartered at the new USC Center for Advanced Manufacturing.

Recruiting Defense Impacted Manufacturers for Free or Reduced Cost Assistance

If you are an aerospace and defense manufacturer whose business has been negatively impacted by reduced Department of Defense procurement and contracting, you may be eligible for free or reduced cost business development services for your company.
