On June 30th, AMP SoCal will host an Innovation Forum spotlighting technology transfers occurring through local universities and how to apply them to commercial use. The technology transfer centers from six southern California universities will present current research technology that have practical applications within the aerospace and/or defense industry. Some of the institutions offer an “express license program” which allow for rapid licensing by companies. We are also inviting one of the national laboratories to share information on their technology transfer program.
Our first Bi-Annual meeting will be held August 4th at the California Science Center in Exposition Park. The California Science Center is home to the Space Shuttle Endeavour. Our Bi-Annual meeting will include: a Defense Panel; a facilitated AMP SoCal Townhall discussion to help guide our future work; an Innovation Panel highlighting best practices for manufacturers; and a much anticipated Supply Chain Procurement Panel with representatives from leading OEMs and First Tier A&D firms in the region. Please remember that this event is targeted at AMP SoCal partners and owners and general managers of small and medium companies only.
June 14th - Manufacturing in North America:
Tijuana and the U.S.-Mexico Economic Relationship
Building on nearby global market opportunities, A&D small and medium manufacturers can learn more about the Baja Industrial sector on June 14 at the Manufacturing in North America: Tijuana and the U.S.-Mexico Economic Relationship.
Coordinated by US – Mexico Chamber in collaboration with the U.S. Consul in Tijuana, Manola Pasero (Tijuana EDC) and me (CMTC-ExporTech), this program will include a site visit to Delphi, an aerospace plant in Tijuana. Supporting sponsors include CMTC and the San Diego CITD.
The forum will help raise awareness of increasing sales in global markets, and offer participating A&D SMMs to gain insight to export business opportunities just south of San Diego.

The China Lake High Tech Consortium, San Diego Regional EDC and iDEA Hub are hosting a day long technology symposium focused on defense and cyber security. The theme is "Autonomous Systems Technologies and Tech Transfer Opportunities" and the event is being held in conjunction with San Diego's Startup Week activities. T
