AMP SoCal Attends the Third Annual IMCP National Summit
The Investing in Manufacturing Communities Partnership (IMCP) initiative is unprecedented in its goal to not only recognize prominent manufacturing communities nationwide, but also encourage regional collaboration so manufacturing as a whole is strengthened throughout the country. On October 19 and 20, that collaborative effort manifested itself in a series of meetings attended and facilitated by the manufacturing communities at the third annual IMCP National Summit, hosted by the U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration (EDA).

AMP SoCal Joins Mayor Garcetti at Launch of Los Angeles Export Program
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti kicked off the city’s new export initiative at the University of Southern California’s Galen Center – Founder’s Club on October 19. AMP SoCal Fall Innovation Forum:
CubeSats and Other Small Satellites,  Nov. 18th in Santa Monica
Join us for the upcoming AMP SoCal Innovation Forum: CubeSats and Other Small Satellites on Friday, November 18, from 9 am – 1 pm at ROC Santa Monica. This forum will highlight the rapidly growing aerospace sector of small satellites (satellites under 1,100 lbs) which is revolutionizing the industry by making spaceflight and extra-atmospheric observations more affordable and accessible to researchers, universities and businesses. The small satellite field includes CubeSats, an amazing extra-terrestrial tool packed into roughly 10 cubic centimeters. The CubeSat standard was created by Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and Stanford University's Space Systems Development Lab in 1999 to facilitate access to space for university students. Representatives from Cal Poly and other top satellite developers will be presenting exciting information on this new wave of space exploration during the next AMP SoCal Innovation Forum.

Fac-a-thon Links Faculty’s Top Minds to Manufacturing’s Top Research Needs - November 2016

The AMP SoCal led Fac-a-thon unites faculty researchers from colleges and universities across the region, pooling their collective brain-power to solve some of the aerospace and defense (A&D) manufacturing industry’s most pressing research issues, while also simultaneously advancing manufacturing development and technology across the nation.

Building off of the “hackathon” model, where programmers and developers across technology fields hold a focused collaborative session for the successful creation of a product, AMP SoCal has developed a similarly structured Fac-a-thon.

SoCal Aerospace Expo
March 8-10, 2017 at the Los Angeles Convention Center

Welcome to SoCal AeroExpo where the goal is to bring Aerospace, Defense and Space business back to Southern California.

We will strive to do this by connecting OEMs, Tier 1 and Tier 2 Domestic and Foreign Customers with local suppliers in an effort to make the bridge and facilitate communication thru B2B pre-arranged matchmaking meetings. By introducing customers to exhibiting companies, Customers' purchasing personnel will be able to meet with and evaluate your products and services.  OEMS, Tier 1, Tier 2 Customers will not need to exhibit, just attend the Expo and meet with suppliers at their 10x10 booths.
