Join us at the Center for Strategic & International Studies (C115), from 6-7pm this Monday, January 8, for a talk (in Chinese, of course) by Alibaba's Chief Scientist, Internet of Things, Ding Xianfeng. Dr. Ding will speak about the development of the Internet of Things (IoT) in China, and share his thoughts on the future.

IoT is potentially one of the most significant techno-industrial developments of our times, and China is at the forefront of its development. How standards and products are developed in China will have ramifications for the global economy.

For those of you trying to keep pace with technological developments in China this is an event not to be missed! 


About Dr. Ding
Dr. Ding Xianfeng is Alibaba's Chief Scientist for Internet of Things. He is a highly experienced architect in the sensing and control industry with 18 years of experience in signal processing, pattern recognition, artificial intelligence, activity recognition, and context awareness and indoor navigation. His expertise includes in-depth knowledge of sensing system hardware, including physical design of MEMS and sensor, circuitry, algorithm optimization, system implementation. Prior to joining Alibaba, Dr. Ding was Chief Scientist of Sensing Solutions at Huawei and, before that, a platform architect at Intel. He holds a Ph.D. from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in artificial intelligence.
