President's Message - Spring 2015

Each new year we may come up with resolutions to accomplish.  What is your resolution this year as a massage therapist? Is it to break into a new market of clientele? Maybe you want to become certified in a new modality, or do you have plans to create a few new referral relationships with other healthcare providers? I think we have all heard  "write down your goals" to actually reach them.

Visualization leads to actualization. We write down our goals as a reminder that we have goals, that there is a reason for our hard work, that ideas don't have to be only thatRead More...

The Spotlight

Every March at the annual conference, AMTA-IL is proud to award several people for their merit, dedication, outstanding service, accomplishments, contributions to the chapter, and the profession of massage therapy. Sometimes it's difficult for the awards committee to decide who the recipient will be, due to the many nominations submitted. Each nominee is deserving of an award, but only one can be chosen. However, each month between now and next year's conference, we will "Spotlight" someone for their work in massage therapy. If you know of someone deserving of recognition, please write a short description of why, and submit it to the membership committee. We will "Spotlight" them in the next  newsletter.

This month's Spotlight is on Bill Connell, the recipient of the this year's "Outstanding Educator Award"

Having said that...  I would love to meet up and hear from our members. Read More...

CONFERENCE 2015

WOW!  I didn't dream the AMTA-IL Annual Conference could get any better, but it did!

I have been a member of the AMTA for 12 years, spanning from the time I was a student, until now, as a professional. I currently serve on the board of directors for the Illinois Chapter, and I've been a conference volunteer for the past 7 years. I've experienced the many facets of our organization, and it's always been clear to me that AMTA-IL strives for excellence in every aspect. However, the main focus and mission has always been, "Remember the Member", and our annual conference is just one way of imparting that message to them.
