A Message From Your AMTA-KY
Chapter President
|
Life has packed so many good things since I wrote to you in the June newsletter it is difficult to decide where to start! The take away message from the 2014 AMTA National Convention in Denver seems like a good place, it's something we all know (or at least suspect) "massage is good medicine." The message posted on the marquee outside of the convention center was reminder of the conversation going inside from start to finish. The bookend keynotes, Dr. Oz's no nonsense opening and Tracey Conway's touching, yet hilarious, closer captured the energy and passion the therapists there felt for our profession. Besides the classes and chapter development programs, here a few of my favorite memories.

A WORD FROM ERIC STEPHENSON
Why Are Body Mechanics So Important?
I have spent the better part of the last fifteen years obsessed with the subject of body mechanics as it relates to massage therapy. It is a healthy obsession, as I am always looking for a better or easier way for not only massage therapists but also other spa service providers to work optimally.

Member Spotlight
Blessed are we who can laugh at ourselves for we
shall never cease to be amused. ~Anonymous
If you have ever met KK, a slight woman with sparkling eyes and an infectious laugh who absolutely never stops moving, you can imagine why this is a favorite quote of hers. She is always willing to try something new, always pushing the boundaries, and never takes herself too seriously. In her latest reincarnation she has joined AMTA-KY's Laws and Legislation Committee and we look forward to seeing how she invigorates our organization.
