AUDITIONS
Frederick Children's Chorus
The Frederick Children's Chorus welcomes children ages 8-12, and young women and young men with changing voices, to audition for its nationally-recognized choral music education and performance program. Auditions for membership in FCC's treble choirs take place each year from late spring until late August; auditions for membership in The Frederick Chamber Singers (FCS), an ensemble for teens with outstanding musical aptitude and skills, take place in August. Auditions take place at FCC's rehearsal location in the Evangelical and Reformed United Church of Christ, Frederick, MD.
Younger children may enroll in Little Music Makers (LMM), a non-auditioned program designed specifically for five through eight-year-old children. Enrollment is now open for Fall LMM classes.
FCC offers children the opportunity to grow musically by supporting their healthy vocal development with a comprehensive, balanced, sequential program. Children enjoy the shared experience of creating choral music with their ensembles, acquire musicianship skills, develop individual voices through one-on-one vocal coaching, and build camaraderie and the "spirit of the ensemble" with fellow choristers at retreats and in rehearsal.
FCC also affords its choristers once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to participate in its national and international touring program, and experience the stage through collaborative performances with some of the area's most prestigious companies such as the The Frederick Chorale, Glorystar Children's Chorus, The Frederick Regional Youth Orchestra, and performances in exciting venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York City. Through FCC's transformative program, children discover their musical ability and creativity in a supportive environment that nurtures the whole child.
Contact [email protected] to arrange for your child's next step in musical enrichment and fun!

An exhibition of the oil paintings of Frederick artist Walt Bartman
September 5-28
Artist Reception First Saturday, September 6, 4-8pm
This exhibition of the works of Walt Bartman will feature a collection of his paintings with a focus on the meaning of "Atmosphere." Bartman has had a long interest in expressing infinite moods that nature bestows upon us daily. From the blinding, burning intensity of sunlight to the turbulent storms and the mystery of fog, we have all felt Nature's control over us. The works in this exhibition are about how the changes of our day relate to the microcosm of our lives. One of his favorite quotes is, " The afternoon is when the storms come."
