Opa-Locka, FL - 08 October 2014: Sherwood Aviation is pleased to announce a new C-130 Support Solution for Honeywell Short Pod APU Operators. Sherwood Aviation is now the Authorized Service Center for Short Pod APU's. This Authorization allows Sherwood to perform Test, Repair, Overhaul, Modification, and Warranty Repair Services for the Short Pod APU and LRU's. Additionally, Sherwood Aviation is the first and only Service Center to offer Modification from Long Pod -1 to Short Pod -3 Configuration.
As a committed Solutions Provider, Sherwood Aviation has invested significant effort to improve OEM lead times and reduce Operator costs by provisioning product and developing APU Repair, Modification and Exchange Programs. Sherwood Aviation's Short Pod APU Modification Program offers Operators considerable cost-savings by Modifying their existing -1 spare APU to the -3 Short Pod APU configuration. "By performing this Modification, we are able save the Operator substantial time and money on spare APU's. We have been able to reduce spares lead time by approximately 12 months while saving the Operator over $250,000.00 with each Modification performed.", said Dawn Balla, Director of Materials.
