September 2018 (Special Release)

September 2018 Important Updates and Requests from OVPRe

As part of our ongoing process to evaluate and improve upon services that impact research at Auburn University, the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) has been engaged in developing a survey that will collect stakeholder input on what improvements may be needed. The survey was developed with input from the Associate Deans for Research and the Faculty Research Committee of the University Senate, and it asks for feedback on the research-related service functions of many units across multiple divisions of the university.  All faculty are encouraged to participate in the survey and in discussions and working groups that will follow. The survey can be accessed by clicking here . Please note that the survey will close on September 28, 2018 so please ensure that you have had a chance to participate before the deadline passes. Please contact Tony Ventimiglia ([email protected]) with any questions.
Health Sciences Research Initiative Open Forum
Monday, September 24, 2018
Nursing Building Auditorium (room 1145)
3:45 - 5:00pm

Auburn University (AU), a land grant institution, proposes to establish a Health Sciences Research Initiative (AUHSRI). The AUHSRI will empower faculty to engage in discovery, innovation, and outreach in the health sciences for the benefit of all segments of society. This Interdisciplinary program will engage faculty experts from all AU colleges and schools involved in research affecting physical, mental, and social health and well-being. The AUHSRI will strengthen the sense of commitment to and facilitate communication with communities and stakeholders throughout the state and beyond, encourage the sharing of resources across campus, and advance the research enterprise related to health sciences through significant extramural sponsorship.

This open forum is an opportunity for any interested faculty to get an overview of the AUHSRI and a little background on what AU's consultant, Dr. Marietta Harrison, will be doing (staff and administrators are also welcome). This is also an opportunity for those at the forum to share ideas or questions that may help with the consulting process. Forum attendees are welcome to arrive and leave as their schedules permit; parking is available in the Nursing Building lot as well as in the lot located across the street (across Donahue) from the Nursing Building.
