The Long Term Research in Environmental Biology (LTREB) Program supports the generation of extended time series of data to address important questions inevolutionary biology, ecology, and ecosystem science. Research areas include, but are not limited to, the effects of natural selection or other evolutionary processes on populations, communities, or ecosystems; the effects of interspecific interactions that vary over time and space; population or community dynamics for organisms that have extended life spans and longturnover times; feedbacks between ecological and evolutionary processes; pools of materials such as nutrients in soils that turn over at intermediate to longer time scales; and external forcing functions such as climatic cycles that operate over long return intervals.
This Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) seeks revolutionary research ideas for topics not being addressed by ongoing I2O programs or other published solicitations. Potential proposers are highly encouraged to review the current I2O programs (http://www.darpa.mil/about-us/offices/i2o) and solicitations (http://www.darpa.mil/work-with-us/opportunities) to avoid proposing efforts that duplicate existing activities or that are responsive to other published I2O solicitations.
As part of our ongoing process to evaluate and improve upon services that impact research at Auburn University, the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) has been engaged in developing a survey that will collect stakeholder input on what improvements may be needed. The survey was developed with input from the Associate Deans for Research and the Faculty Research Committee of the University Senate, and it asks for feedback on the research-related service functions of many units across multiple divisions of the university. All faculty are encouraged to participate in the survey and in discussions and working groups that will follow. The survey can be accessed by clicking here. 2018 Office of the Vice President for Research Expo
The Office of the Vice President for Research will be hosting an Expo Sept. 25 from 1-4 p.m. in the Office of Information Technology conference rooms (103A/103B on the first floor). The Expo will provide an opportunity to learn about resources available as well as provide time for open questions and discussion with key administrators and personnel.
