Parent Connection

Community, Tradition, Legacy

Greetings Fellow AU Parents!

For those of you who are a "returning" parent . . . welcome back.  For those of you with a child who is a new student at Anderson . . . welcome to the AU family.  It's great to have an active, bustling campus again after the quiet summer, and I hope your student is thriving!

Anderson University has a vibrant and caring community, where people--faculty, staff, students, and alumni--go out of their way to help others.  This is evident year-round at AU, but extremely visible during this year's freshmen service project.  The students and staff worked hard on a Friday afternoon to give back to the greater Anderson community.

Many great traditions abound at Anderson University, but none is more heartwarming than on freshmen move-in day.  For many years now, when a freshman arrives at AU, all of their belongings are unloaded from their car and taken directly to their dorm room by teams of willing helpers.  This is such an amazing gift for the new families who are dreading all the work to be done when they arrive on campus.  This tradition is a blessing for everyone involved.  Click here to see move-in day and freshman service project photos.

Thousands of people who have lived, studied, and worked at AU through the years have left a rich legacy for those who follow, one filled with countless examples of a strong community committed to one another.  This legacy involves living out many meaningful and fun AU traditions throughout each school year.  Be sure to check out this year's "Legacy" photo at the bottom of this newsletter.  The people in this photo are new students to AU with their alumni parents who are entrusting a new generation of their family to AU.

Blessings to all parents who love their children.
