There will be elements of dance theatre, music, musical theatre and new experimental works in the showcases.
We are actively auditioning to seek additional members for our performing team, next week and the week after in NYC and Jersey City. Rehearsals will be held in NYC (Manhattan) and Jersey City (Journal Sq).

Indian Dance Theatre Musical with Ballet/Modern/Ethnic/Jazz
Job description:
Surati for Performing Arts seeks male and female dancers, musicians, vocalists, actors, production staff and crew for their new works to be staged in early 2013 and continuing work with the company through 2013. There could be opportunities to work with the company in the 2013-2014 season too. Some or extensive touring with the company may be needed. Involvement in some educational projects (performances, lecture demonstrations, workshops and residencies) with schools, universities, museums may also be needed. We prefer performers with some flexibility in schedules in 2013. New works include original dance theatre musicals and theatrical staged productions under the artistic direction of founder Rimli Roy.
Paid performances and rehearsal time/travel.
Showcases include APAP and other similar events.
Performances include two major Surati events in 2013, apart from other professional staged shows.
Specially seeking versatile performers who can act, sing and dance in any genre!
Dancers should have extensive / professional experience and expertise in at least one- Indian classical and/or traditional folk and/or Bollywood dance form and/or modern/ballet/jazz/tap techniques and be willing to work with and train in new genres of dance in addition to their own styles when needed.
Musicians/vocalists should have extensive professional experience and expertise in any Indian or other instrument and be willing to perform solo or in an orchestra. Some experience and understanding of Indian music is desirable.
Production staff and crew needed with flexible schedules for various off / back stage and on site work
