AWM Board of Directors Profile: Helen Sullivan

A nationally recognized expert in industry-wide public relations and integrated marketing programs for associations, Helen Sullivan, APR, Fellow PRSA, is president of InHouse Communications, based in metro Washington, D.C. She was among the first to join the quest to establish the American Writers Museum.

"When Malcolm O'Hagan first shared his vision with me, it was very early on, in 2010," Helen explains. "Malcolm's neighbor was a professional colleague of mine who knew of my interest in poetry and suggested that Malcolm and I meet. Malcolm's vision was contagious -- of course -- and I was thrilled to be part of something so important, worthy, and exciting. As an avid reader and lifelong devotee of poetry, it has been a dream-come-true to watch the museum progress from vision to reality."

Helen believes the museum leadership, staff, partners, and scholars have done an extraordinary job in planning a museum that will be "a gathering place of aha moments, learning, reflection, ideas, inspiration, importance - and, yes, fun."
