Dear AZAFAP Family and Supporters,

As the holidays approach, seeing children in foster care is ever more heartbreaking. We need to pull together as a community to ensure all of our children can enjoy the holidays.

Did you know that unlicensed relatives are allotted a little under $2.00 per day per child!? Though many do qualify for additional food stamps, the holidays are a time for those extra treats of pumpkin pies and candy canes.

Anything you can do or offer is greatly appreciated! Find a way to get involved this season! Rally the support of neighbors, friends, churches, family, coworkers to support children in the foster care system.

VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED!
The DCS Resource Placement Center is still in
desperate need of volunteers!!
If you have ever considered fostering, or if you've been looking for a way to get involved somehow to help these children....please consider becoming a volunteer for the DCS Resource Placement Center.
This is a great way to get involved and make a positive difference for children who are experiencing one of the most traumatic times in their young lives. Come hold and cuddle babies; play with and care for a child who is heartbroken and in need of TLC, love, and reassurance. Contact them at azdes.gov/volunteer
or 602-542-1991

Book Recommendations

LOVE this book! (it's a fav at our house)

The Angry Octopus: A Relaxation Story

By Lori Lite

(From the back cover) "Children love to unwind and relax with this fun exercise known as muscular relaxation. Children will be able to relate to the angry octopus in this story as the sea child shows him how to calm down and manage his anger. This effective stress and management technique focuses awareness on various muscle groups to create complete resting of the mind and body..."
