This Week: Snowmaking Resumes!
| |

The hills are alive with the sound of snowguns!
Air pressure, wet bulb temperature, water flow, flakes on coat sleeves. It's a complicated formula. Only the expert snowmakers really know how it all works. The most important point is that snowmaking leads to terrific skiing and snowboarding throughout the Mt. Washington Valley.
In the past week, Attitash, Bretton Woods, Cranmore, Shawnee Peak and Wildcat have all made snow. And all the ski resorts and Nordic centers are busy prepping for their opening days. With one exception: Bretton Woods. Bretton Woods opened just after Thanksgiving and has remained open since.
Be sure to check out the shots of snowmaking from around the Mt. Washington Valley in our Flickr gallery.

Weather Report
| |
It looks like snowmaking weather is here to stay, and winter is on its way in the Mt. Washington Valley. It should be all systems go around the Mt. Washington Valley with snowmaking overnight and sunny skies during the day in the upcoming week. The weather prediction is just the way we like it at this time of year. Additionally, we may have a little natural snow headed our way for the proverbial icing on the cake. As more ski resorts fire up the snowguns, we'll be sure to offer updates on the progress with the words and pictures you've come to expect from "About the Snow." And, of course, you can also visit the Mt. Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce Facebook page for updates, too.
