AboutSkin participated in the KYBELLA FDA trial on "double-chin" treatment--Now approved!

AboutSkin Dermatology is the only office in this region of the country to have participated in the clinical trial on Kybella. We are excited about the announcement of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's approval of Kybella, for the treatment for adults with "double-chin" fat.

 

The active ingredient in Kybella is similar to the deoxycholic acid that is found in the body, which helps the body absorb fats. Kybella's mechanism of action is to destroy fat cell walls. When properly injected by a trained physician, the drug dissolves fat cells in the "double-chin" area.

  

We are presently the only office in the region experienced with this product, and Dr. Cohen has been designated to train other physicians on this procedure. Kybella is administered through a series of injections into the fat tissue in the submental area (double-chin).
