Scholarship Fundraising Concert

The Music Academy of WNC Academy String Quartet will present a full recital on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at the Unitarian Universalist in Hendersonville. The recital begins at 4:00PM and includes works by Handel, Mozart, McLean, and others. Tickets are $10.00 and can be purchased in advanced on our website. All proceeds fund the Music Academy Scholarship Program.

Music Academy of WNC T-Shirts are now available on our website. The shirts are Gilden, 100% cotton, preshrunk jerseys with the Music Academy logo on the chest. Sizes come in small, medium, large, and X-large and are $15.00 each. Preorders will be taken on the website until mid-March and shirts will be delivered by the end of March. All proceeds fund the Music Academy Scholarship Program.

Fiddle Workshop With Jan Daugherty! Saturday, March 14, 2015 From
9:00 AM - 12:00 Noon

The Fiddle Workshop is for students ages 9 and up. This workshop will cover music reading and basic fiddle playing technique. The workshop will meet on Saturday, March 14, 2015 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 Noon. Workshop is taught by Jan Daugherty. Class materials are included in the $25.00 tuition price. Two Music Academy of WNC Students Place In The 2015 Hendersonville Symphony Young Artist Competition

CONGRATULATIONS to Daphne Bickley (Viola) and Joah Bickley (Violin) for placing in the 20th Annual Hendersonville Symphony Young Artist Competition. Daphne and Joah competed against twelve Western North Carolina applicants across multiple instrument categories. Daphne placed third overall and Joah received an honorable mention. Daphne is the student of Jan Daugherty and Joah is the student of Stephanie Quinn.

Inclement Weather Policies

It is that time of year where we may experience inclement weather that could affect our regular schedule at the Music Academy. Please keep in mind we DO NOT follow the Henderson County School system for inclement weather closings. All Music Academy closings will be posted on our Website, Facebook, and Twitter accounts. Students with cancelled lessons due to inclement weather will also receive an email stating the Music Academy has closed for that particular day. Faculty members will call their students directly to reschedule these lessons. Please review our inclement weather closing policies HERE.

The Music Academy of Western North Carolina has established a Scholarship Fund for students in need of financial assistance. This scholarship program funds tuition for private lessons, ensembles, summer camps, and music workshops for students that would not be able to participate.
