  • To foster a fairer and more effective way to incorporate local solar into the electric system, Acadia Center developed a forward-looking and broadly applicable solar compensation model, the Next Generation Solar Framework.
  • Peter Shattuck, Director of Acadia Center's Clean Energy Initiative, explained why Massachusetts is not facing an energy crisis on our blog.
  • Acadia Center submitted a joint letter with clean energy developers calling for fair consideration of alternatives to natural gas in meeting the region's electricity needs. 
  • Varun Kumar, Acadia Center's Policy Data Analyst, taught us how to critically review technical reports

Acadia Center Makes the List 
Acadia Center works hard to make sure that all our contributions go directly to achieving a clean energy future. This year, New York Magazine and U.S. News & World Report have included us in select 2015 lists of top charities making a difference. Charity Navigator has again included Acadia Center on its list of "Top 10 Charities Worth Watching" and has consistently awarded us its highest 4-star rating. 
Community|EnergyVision Release

Last week Acadia Center released Community|EnergyVision , a comprehensive fra mework that outlines a pathway for communities to take control of the energy system and modernize the way it is planned and managed. The illustrated publication details the full range of relevant issues surrounding Community Energy and provides examples of successful Community Energy systems emerging in the U.S. and abroad.
MA Attorney General's Office Releases Reliability Study 
New publicly-funded natural gas pipelines in New England are unnecessary according to a  new study  by the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office. Peter Shattuck, Massachusetts Director for Acadia Center, served on the report's Study Advisory Group along with representatives from utilities, the natural gas industry, and clean energy and consumer groups. The study's findings are validated by significant developments in the region's energy markets, including e xpanded efficiency programs that are reducing energy demand cost-effectively.

Acadia Center Staff Participates in Giving Tuesday
Acadia Center staff participated in Giving Tuesday's UNSelfie campaign this November with signs explaining why they do they work they do. Some of the reasons included: Because our energy future needs to be a clean one, because my kids deserve a clean energy future, and because I believe in nonprofits and want to leave the world a better place.
