Learn about our consulting services and experience.

Greetings!
Thanks for taking time to read this issue of the Mid-Atlantic newsletter.  Being a multi-disciplinary consulting firm allows Acentech to become involved with many different types of projects with a variety of clients.  Being multi-disciplinary also means we face the challenge of communicating the full scope of our available services to clients who may think of us in terms of only one or two consulting specialties.  So I'd like to take this opportunity to give a quick summary of Acentech's services:
  • Architectural  Acoustics (making a room or space meet the required sound criteria)
  • Performance Space Acoustics and Sound Systems (theaters, concert halls)
  • Mechanical System Noise and Vibration Mitigation (ensuring that mechanical system noise and vibration levels are acceptable)
  • Environmental Noise (field testing and guidance on meeting local, county, state or federal regulations)
  • Transportation Noise (helping control noise and vibration from planes, trains and automobiles)
  • Scientific and Research Facility Vibration (laboratories, vivariums)
  • Urban Acoustics (minimizing distractions caused by sources of urban noise)
  • Speech Privacy (sound masking, open office acoustics, speech intelligibility)
  • Product Sound Quality (helping manufacturers control and customize product noise)
  • Audiovisual Systems Design (visual and audio systems, digital signage, video-conferencing, rich-media content capture, streaming media, ADA assisted listening)
  • Broadcast Studios (audio and video control rooms, mixing suites)
  • Information Technology Infrastructure (wired and wireless voice, data, video, and Internet network infrastructure, server room design)

That's a pretty diverse list of services.  But the ability of Acentech's staff to integrate multiple services provides a synergy that has advantages for both the design team and the building's occupants.  For the design team, it means one firm is responsible for creating design recommendations, drawings and specifications.  For the building's occupants it means being able to have one firm document and implement the project's functional and technical requirements.  If you would like to learn more about our services or have a question, please contact Jeannette Caruso, Mid-Atlantic Office Marketing Coordinator at 215-245-8244 or jcaruso@acentech.com.

Sincerely,
Ernie Schirmer

Project Spotlight: Wounded Warrior Homes
Wounded Warrior Home Exterior
To help soldiers along their journey of rehabilitation and adjustment to their new "normal", the U.S. Army, Michael Graves & Associates (architect), and numerous consultants, including Acentech, designed two prototype homes, called Freedom and Patriot, designed specifically for "wounded warriors" returning to active duty.

Learn More: Information Technology Infrastructure in Healthcare
Over the past few years, there have been efforts to recognize the specific IT infrastructure needs of specialized environments, such as healthcare facilities. Although standards-based generic design guidelines have existed for some time, until now it has been the responsibility of the IT infrastructure designer to modify and adapt these generic design guidelines to meet specific needs.
