Create an exciting community experience around reading!
What's a 'Little Free Library?'  A little hand-crafted structure that houses a collection of books with a 'take a book, leave a book' philosophy... creating an exciting community experience around reading. Our goal is to raise $1,500 in 2 months to put up 3 new Little Free Libraries!
Little Free Libraries are a growing presence across Northern Nevada and United Way has a long-term goal to have one in each of the 139 zip code areas we serve.
Trinet Employees Bring 'Literacy Kits' to Children in Wadsworth
Reno TriNet employees partnered with United Way to pack and deliver Summer
Literacy Kits for 3rd graders at Natchez Elementary School in Wadsworth last month, bringing smiles to all involved.  This volunteer activity brought together a collection of fun supplies in connection with a safari themed book encouraging continued reading during the summer months. Why it matters >>
The literacy kits included a bug catcher playset, binoculars, a journal, sunscreen and a hat inviting kids to explore their own backyard. The kids happily flipped through their new book, tried on their new hat and peeked through their binoculars.
Summer Literacy Kits are a fun, easy way to keep children actively learning outside of school days. Working with companies like TriNet, we are able to keep children in our communities engaged year-round.
